Rules
Ground Rules
This is the part where I go over rules that are virtually upon every Rp site in existence. Woo. Let's just get this over with: Don't be a racist - including racial slurs, don't personally attack people through the cbox, or OOC - if you have a problem work it out via PM and if it gets bad - PM a staff member, don't double post ever (staff have exceptions but THEM ONLY), all replies in an Rp thread should be IC (in character) - and an OOC note can be added if necessary, don't be a childish - even if you are thirteen, and most of all - don't purposely insult or piss off the staff. We. Will. Zat. You. Twice. <3
Basically the expectations upon the site are not 'anything you can just squeeze out' for a post. This is an intermediate-advanced Rp, so we have higher expectations. You need at least 200 words - and that shouldn't be a solid giant quote from someone else's post. There is a magical "Spell Check" button at the bottom - and just under it, a Word-Count...counter. These are you friends. I'm legally married to the Word Count counter...and you should be too. If you consistently keep having major typos that actually cause others you are Rping with to be annoyed and/or distracted by your poor grammar - you will receive a ZAT Pm telling you to type your posts in Word - for it bitch-slaps you with pretty lines. You can also make practically every internet browser known to man underline misspelled words as well. There is any 'word limit' in the OOC section
Rp Content
THINK OF THE CHILDREN! No really - think of the minimum age that can join this site. Thirteen. So please - if your character wants to 'get it on' - eg get laid - please don't write smut, m'k? Think of what they can show on a television show that's rated TV-14 in the states...eg Stargate. You can do whatever - I just don't want to browse around the board and read a thread about eating someone out or bj's...and if you don't know what that means - good. Grasp onto your innocence while you still can! Implying things is the key. If you're not sure about how far you can go, please PM me or another staffie. M'k?
Swearing...is fun. (: Thanks to our strange, strange society, we make it so shooting someone in the head on TV is okay, but saying a word isn't. But...it's easier to change the Censored Word thing, then society, huh? Basically - type whatever the frak you want, and our magic censor will save the day. The 'f' word turns into the Battlestar Alternative - frak. The 's' word comes out like $#!&, until we think of a more fun word to replace it. Those, and the lovely 'n' word are really the only ones that have any sort of censorship. Just...don't push the freedom we're letting you have here, alright?
Every character here on Stargate Zeta [aka the Magic Donut] has a separate account from which you post and Rp with...and such. You may never control another person's character with a registered account, in your post. God-Modding. Bad. If it's a fight - just say what happened on your end. Leave it open ended - or discuss what happens with a better flow via PM, Cbox, or IM. {1st secret word is hot} If you have permission to 'drag a character along' in a thread, because of LOA issues and the thread has to keep going - don't take advantage of it. In general, the staff would prefer if no God-Modding would occur at all. If you go on LOA, just post to remove yourself from the thread. Done and done.
Canon!
I'll just say this off the bat - no canon characters. Why? Because non canon is every right when Rped in a new location. Everyone wants to change them for their own devices then other people are like "WAH THAT'S NOT RIGHT" and blah blah blah. Basically - ALL ORIGINAL CHARACTERS. No relations to canon characters either. Alright? Alright.
Celebrities
No drawings, anime characters, or PBs [play-bys] that were ever originally on any of the Stargate shows. Why? Because real people are good. Be sure to check the Claimed Celebrity List to make sure your celeb isn't already taken.
Characters
For each new character, you need to register a new account. If you already have a character and you want to make another, wait until you have 30 posts, and at least one active thread. Please don't create too many characters! I'm not going to cap it - but I'll highly not recommend not having over three. To get your character accepted, your Display Name has to be the same as your character's name - and an avatar has to be up.
